He was born 1/12/12 at 3:56am 6lb 12oz and 20 inches of perfection! I want to document down my labor story (like most moms do!) so that i dont forget any small details as time passes.

Tuesday I called my dr to try and change my appt from thursday (the 12th) to that day (tuesday) in hopes of getting my membranes stripped ONE last time and hopefully something happening! I was so determined to not have a c-section. So we got in that day, had the procedure done, and went home! Well, where we live, there is a SUPER STEEP hill.. like ridiculously steep. I told saia to drop me off at the bottom and i was going to walk up to the top. Ok i swear after passing 2 houses i was DYING.. my poor large legs hadn't endured something like that for the longest time, but i just kept going! I figured since our house doesn't have stairs, a huge hill will forsure work! Once we got home, i bounced on my birthing ball a little and just hung out with Saia and lyric. Wednesday, we went for a long walk and still... nothing. I decided after doing tons of reading that i was just going to try the Castor Oil. After all, i had tried EVERYTHING suggested by friends and online.. and nothing had worked, so what did i have to loose? Some people say the castor oil works, some say it doesn't. Well it was 9:45, i blended together some ice cream, milk, (almost) 2tbsp of castor oil and banana baby food (because i didn't have any bananas!) and started to drink it. I took a sip and yes it was DISGUSTING! Tasted like i was eating lipstick or chapstick.. just horrible. After the first sip i felt like i peed on myself a little bit.. but nothing too much. Yes its gross, and i was SO embarassed that i didn't even tell saia (who was standing in the kitchen with me).. i just went to the room/bathroom and changed then came back. As i was going to take another sip, it happened again! Again, not a ton at all.. just a little bit but enough to be noticed. So i again went into the room/bathroom and changed. I kept thinking to myself "what if this is my water breaking?" but figured it wasn't. YES i was embarassed! Well back into the kitchen i went.. 2 changes of pants later! So i finished drinking the disgusting milkshake (that i chased with pepsi.. GROSS!!!!.. but it was the only carbonated thing we had in the house). I went into the livingroom and told saia i think i had peed on myself or something and told him how embarassed i was. He looked at me like i was crazy, which is exactly how i felt! I was texting with my sister in law telling her the same thing as i bounced on the big yoga ball while saia watched a movie. I felt like i was about to "pee" again, so i got up and as i walked (FAST!) out of the room i said saia i think something's wrong! Right as i got in the bathroom above the toilet, i felt a big gush. I tried to stop it as it came out, but that didn't work at all. So now i had 3 pairs of wet pants and no real explanation. I figured something was up with me.. either my water did infact break, OR i really WAS peeing on myself and i should probably be checked anyway considering that's not exactly normal. I told saia who told me to hurry and lets go because he had work the next day (haha!). Yes he was partially kidding. He did have work the next day but he was just super nervous, i could tell! Well i got in the shower and put on some sweats - let my mom know we were headed out so she could listen for lyric (who was thankfully sleeping!) and headed for the hospital. By the way i had a washcloth in my pants, for juuuuuust incase my water (or pee.. we didn't know at the time) decided to leak out again. It was only about 11pm at this point. We got to the hospital and all i could think about was the castor oil i had just chugged down, and how i hoped i didn't really pee all over myself. (As most of you know, castor oil is a laxative, so all i could think about was that if i WAS infact going into labor, would the castor oil "HAPPEN" during labor? i was terrified!!!!) Anyway, we get checked in and the sweet nurse checked if it was infact amniotic fluid that i was leaking.. the strip was BLUE! Which meant positive, my water had infact broken! However she said i still had a "bulging bag" so lots of water still inside of me. She informed me i was 5cm dialated already, too. I couldn't believe it! (With lyric, at 4 1/2 cm i was dying with pain!) Anyway, She hooked me up to the machines and kept asking "do you feel that contraction?" and i'd answer with.. no. I was having consistent contractions ever 4 minutes then about every 2, and i couldn't feel a single one! They came back and forth to check me, ask me if i wanted the epidural, etc. My dr eventually came and ruptured the rest of my water which gushed on out. I couldn't believe how much was left in there! When i was 7-8 cm dialated they again asked if i could feel anything and i let them know i couldn't. My dr suggested that since he ruptured my bag of waters, that if i did think i'd want the epidural that i got it soon because my contractions would probably start coming faster and become painful. I waited a little while then at 8cm i got the epidural. At that point i could feel the contractions, but still had them under control. For some reason, i did throw up while getting it put in, but felt fine after my stomach was empty. Anyway- Not even an hour later i was complete, 10 cm dialated! I could feel my contractions completely on my left side but nothing on my right. I just kept telling myself that women have done it before me and women will do it after me, so the faster i got through it the faster it'd be over!! Well, It was time to push. I started pushing (apparently so hard that i turned purple according to saia haha!)and 16 minutes later my little man was all the way out! I couldn't believe it. I was (and still am) SO PROUD of myself for going through with the successful VBAC! (Vaginal Birth after Cesarean) I was so proud that i got him out in only 16 minutes, too! Oh and that the castor oil didn't "take effect" at all during my labor :) haha. ALL my prayers had been answered and i cannot thank the big man upstairs enough! Through him, all is possible! ;) I was in such shock of what had just happened when our baby was born. Saia, i could tell, was in shock too but so happy and proud. He was AMAZING during the whole thing, always telling me how good i was doing and how proud of me he was! Im so blessed to have him :) So anyway- 6lb 12oz and 20 inches long. Our little Luve had entered the world at 3:56am and we have loved him every second since. The recovery has been HEAVENLY compared to a c-section. I now understand why women are so passionate about VBAC's. I had two main reasons for not wanting another c-section. The first being that we want a large family, and i know that with each additional c section, the pregnancies come with so many risks for the mother and baby. & the second being that i didn't want a long recovery time in the hospital and out. I was so sad that i'd have to be in the hospital for 24 hours as it is, i didn't want that extended! I cried thinking about not being able to pick up lyric and hold her and play with her (if i had a c section). So again, im so so proud of myself for pushing through (literally! haha) and having our little prince VBAC.

Our little family of three is now a family of four and i feel so blessed! Im so grateful and definatly looking forward to all the additional blessings we'll receive while caring for Lyric and Luve.

By the way - His name is pronounced: noo-koo-loo-vay paul - ay - too - uh Vainuku :)

Strip!

So today, i had my membranes stripped in *HOPES* that it'll move this whole pregnant/labor thing along a little quicker! Having your membranes stripped basically means having the amniotic sac seperated from your uterus wall. I read ALOT about it, and everyone is pretty 50/50 on it. Some said it hurt like craaaazy where as others said it feels about the same as a normal cervical exam that you get while pregnant. Well for me, it definatly did not hurt. It was a bit uncomfortable having someone's hand (the dr of course!) all the way in there, but there was no pain! And other than discomfort, the only thing i really could feel was the actual separation. It grossed me the heck out, just to feel it kind of tearing apart. Grossss!! So now i am anxiously awaiting these contractions that i just KNOW will begin to be consistent in the next 24 hours! :) haha

Waiting.. waiting.. waiting.

I'll keep you all posted. I Love the time i have now to make a good home made dinner for Saia that is ready when he comes home from work. Also, the left overs are always just as good! Here are a few things (with recipe's attached) that i've made the past week and a half that we just loved.

Cafe Rio Salad!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-3S3WoQfG-ZQ/TrGQie536eI/AAAAAAAAA20/1MQQn2qfTJc/s400/cafe%2Brio.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5670472327921920482" />
http://www.favfamilyrecipes.com/2007/11/jared-and-i-love-cafe-rio.html
The only thing(s) i did differently, was bought cilantro lime rice and used HEB Chicken Fajita Meat instead of the cafe rio recipe for their meat. The meat i ate at cafe rio was the only thing i never liked about the place.. it was always DRY! Using HEB's fajita meat made the salad 10 times better. No lie. You'll have to try it yourself!

Ham & Cheese Sammies!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 326px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_H3UKfksdpI/TrGRVLi4A7I/AAAAAAAAA3A/CC1QZNHqhOc/s400/ham%2Bsammies.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5670473198898512818" />
http://www.beyerbeware.net/2011/04/hunk-of-meat-monday-game-time-favorites.html
We tweaked this one a teeny bit too - we used Pepper Jack Cheese instead of Swiss :) It was delicious :)

Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lQrUlJMlrmI/TrGR1wll5DI/AAAAAAAAA3M/uEa3Zfg_aHM/s400/buffalo%2Bchicken.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5670473758597833778" />
http://mykitchenapron.blogspot.com/2011/07/crock-pot-buffalo-chicken.html
WE LOVED THIS. Not to mention, it was the EASIEST thing i think i've ever put together. I was a little worried, wondering if i'd like it because im not a "wing sauce" fan at all, due to the vinegar that is in almost each and every bottle! I can definatly say though, that these were delicious. We bought Hoagie rolls and ate them as sandwitches as suggested with the Recipe. We put lettuce and a little ranch on each sandwitch to add a little crunch and flavor, as well. We ate these for a few days, as it truly makes enough for lots of leftovers! It wasn't too spicy, either. Definatly give these a try, you wont be disappointed!

Seafood Alfredo (olive garden recipe!)
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 199px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xcSC0EU8kuk/TrGSmZ_rUEI/AAAAAAAAA3Y/CWccTxAK8pU/s400/alfredo.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5670474594346815554" />
http://www.olivegarden.com/Connections-to-Italy/Recipes/Sauces/Alfredo-Sauce/
My husband LOVES Olive Garden's Alfredo sauce, so i figured i'd give it a try! It was of course, delicious. We added sauteed Shrimp, as well. Two Thumbs Up!

Marshmallow, Butter, Cinnamon Crescents!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8Z9eR9vAS7Q/TrGTNlLanuI/AAAAAAAAA3k/Ds7939--H5c/s400/marshmallow.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5670475267363741410" />
http://www.eatatallies.com/2011/04/resurrection-rolls.html
I made these this past weekend for breakfast and we had hot chocolate with them. THEY ARE DIVINE. I had tried them in the past as a teenager, but never since. So when i stumbled across the recipe, i was so excited! They are the easiest little things to make, so definatly give them a try!

DIRT CAKE!!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FmIOYKy6X2s/TrGUVn-iwbI/AAAAAAAAA3w/9XbHWvebLkU/s400/dirt%2Bcake.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5670476505065636274" />
http://www.sassyinthekitchen.net/2010/06/delicious-dirt-cake.html
Dirt cake has been a favorite of mine for yeaaaarrrssss. I used to have my mom make it for my birthday for years. I just love it. It's so simple, and so delicious! Out of almost 200 pictures, there were only 17 that i loved, but thats ok!! 17 is alot! We went to Gruene, Tx (said like "green") and had my mom take them around that little town. When lyric turns 1 (in only 2 weeks! AHH!) We will probably go and have some done at walmart, jc penny, something like that. Im so excited. I love having family pictures. Im grateful to be able to document these memories and have pictures of our family for our kids to see one day. I love my husband and all his hard work, and especially the love he shows towards Lyric & I! I am forever grateful. Anyway - not too much is new around here. I'm now 26 weeks pregnant and cant get over how much this little guy is moving! I cant believe i only have about 3 months left. Im hoping he comes in December! That'd be so fun to have him in time for christmas. Im SO SO SO excited for the holidays this year! Lyric still isn't old enough to understand what birthdays, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are.. but atleast she knows how to get excited! I love that she's growing and learning each day.

Here are a few of our family pictures we took this past weekend... If you haven't checked it out or become a member, I HIGHLY recommend it. I dont even know how to explain it, other than saying it's simply amazing. You can get so many ideas for just about anything. Recipe's, DIY crafts, home decorating ideas, holiday fun, etc.

Well, before i found pinterest, i had made it a goal to find new recipe's and try making new things! Im happy to say that i'm on a roll! Here are a few recipe's i've tried out in the past week that i love!

Fast creamy shrimp and mushroom pasta
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PLkk-0G_EaM/TpXi93PLMII/AAAAAAAAA0E/fbOPTw-YMMk/s400/mushroom%2Bshrimp%2Bpasta.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5662681658915762306" />
http://chaosinthekitchen.com/2008/10/fast-food-creamy-shrimp-and-mushroom-pasta/

Slow Cooker Jambalaya
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 300px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-VUOpzA2vQWc/TpXi9iEz_FI/AAAAAAAAAz8/hw7La6tGwfc/s400/jambalaya.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5662681653235154002" />
http://www.americanfamily.com/recipes/easy-slow-cooker-jambalaya/43136/RL

Crock Pot Chicken Teryaki
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-_IyR2KJKqRc/TpXi9yrx68I/AAAAAAAAA0Y/Ln-HxCcVFM0/s400/teryaki%2Bchicken.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5662681657693563842" />
http://lakelurecottagekitchen.blogspot.com/2011/08/crock-pot-teriyaki-chicken.html

Where has it gone??

Seriously, where has the time gone?? Life has changed SO MUCH in the last few months since i've blogged. Im terrible at blogging, but im going to try & make it a goal to update ATLEAST every 2 weeks. I'll aim for every week, but i think i can handle every 2!!

Anyway - life has been busy busy busy. There are a few super important updates to make known :)

1. I am no longer Andrea Marie Silva. I'm Mrs. Andrea Vainuku!!!
2. Our family of 3 will soon turn into a family of 4!
3. We have relocated.

Yes, it's true. Saia and i got married!! "Finally" is how most have described it. We met in 2009, have dated off and on since then, had a few bumps in the road, had a beautiful baby girl, and have now made our family complete! We are all Vainuku's :) I couldn't be more proud to be his wife. We have both come such a long way from when we first met. He is the move loving and supportive husband i could have ever dreamed of. He's my true match and im glad we stuck it out through the good bad and ugly and made it to where we are today!! Im so happy that we didn't get married "for the baby's sake" (though she is DEFINATLY worth it, dont get me wrong!!!) in the very beginning. We waited until we were both truly ready and then decided to tie the knot! It was at a perfect time, too. I love my husband and support him 100% in all his decesions. Im grateful for his love and support towards me as well.

Onto #2... yes, im pregnnat, again! We are due January 22nd, 2012! We had an ultrasound on August 29th and are expecting our first little boy! Saia is of course EXTATIC - he is so excited for a little boy to play rough with and take around. I am.... nervous. VERY nervous! The though of having a little boy makes me nervous but i am SO ready to tackle this next blessing coming my way in life! We dont have any names picked out yet.. but im sure it'll be a tongan name after his daddy's side. Saia will be the one to name him. We can hardly wait for his arrival, but luckily we do have a few months to prepare :)

And last but not least #3.. we have moved to Texas!!! I am LOVING being home around my family. I love the summer activities (the river - tubing, swimming, etc) and the warm sunshine. I love the nature that surrounds us, too. Waking up with lyric and going on a walk in the mornings is so fun.. i love to see her observing the deer in a neighbors yard, the squirrels that are running up tree's and the lizards creeping around the house. It's so fun watching her learn and grow! I will admit, i think i took it harder than Saia when we left his family. Whether they realize it or not, i LOVED being around them. I love their culture, their understanding of family, etc. I miss hearing everyone speaking tongan, miss lyric being surrounded by all 20+ of her little cousins, etc. It was SO hard to leave for me, but i knew that we were starting a new chapter in our lives.. and i knew it was for the best. (Not to mention, them living in Utah gives us a reason to always go back for a visit!) So if you're reading this, Angilau family, Helu Family, Fakahau Family, Latu Family, Vainuku's, Vaka's, etc.. we miss you all dearly! Hopefully we'll be back to visit soon :)

On another note - Lyric's first birthday is literally RIGHT around the corner! I cant believe it's already been a whole year. Thats just crazy to me!! She has grown SO much and is just such a joy to have and hold each day! She started walking around 9 months and right before her 10 month birthday had it down to a science!! I cant hardly believe how much she is growing and how she's been learning so much. She now smiles and has cute little babbling conversations with me. She mimicks me, too! Oh how we love love love her. Im back at work now, just working part time from 6am - 12:30 and it's just perfect. She sleeps till about 10ish so only knows she's without me for two hours. Im SO blessed to have Saia's family who so willingly watches her each day when Saia isn't able to. Lyric had her 2 month check up a week and a half before she turned 2 months and was 10lb 13oz and 23 inches long! She got 5 shots but is such a trooper. She cried a little during the shots but once they were over she was a happy camper and fell right asleep. Im so lucky to have her forever & to be able to watch her grow each day <3>

<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; Oh, im so in love. She's beyond perfect. From her 10 teeny toes up to the top of her head which was definatly blessed with hair, and lots of it!! For my own sake, i want to write down my 'labor & delivery story' so i never forget the fun details.

Sunday morning, November 7th, i woke up around 5ish. I called my mom around 6 or 7 saying i was having back pain. Eventually she convinced me that i miiiiight be having contractions. We eventually started recording the times they would come. 10 minutes apart, then eventually 8, 7, 6, 5.... and we knew it was real. She told me to get in the shower because eventually i would be in pain and wouldnt want to. I took a shower, and was starving! I didn't want to eat anything big, so i had a piece of white wonder bread.. and let me just say it was heavenly. I told my mom over the phone that it was the best piece of bread i'd ever had! I got to the hospital a little after 12 noon and i was dialated to a 4 1/2. They asked if i wanted the epidural ordered then, or if i would like to walk around and wait awhile. I decided on the walking part.. however once i got into my room and got my IV in, the pain was getting bad. I was using those crazy breathing methods, and asked for it to be ordered right away. That epidural was amazingy, heaven sent, magical, etc. I'm not sure what the huge fuss is about it being scary.. it wasn't scary at all! There was a small sting for about 2 seconds, then a cold rush up my back, then shortly after, all that pain was gone! I was sure to click my button to have the medicine every 15 minutes, but at one point i started feeling contractions.. slowly. My little machine was making a beeping sound and of course just my luck, the doctors were all changing shifts. Once my nurse came in, it turned out that my epidural meds had run out! So for about an hour, i was feeling every contraction. When MY ob doctor came to the hospital, it was such a feeling of relief. I trusted her and felt as if 'family' was there with me. I knew everything was going to be ok. I had my water broken, and though it was kind of gross with the "waters" coming out, it was such a cool feeling! With every contraction & everytime baby would move, some more would come out! Saia and i watched TV/Movies for hours & eventually i started pushing. It didn't feel "real" because to me, the pushing part came with pain, screaming and all those other things seen on TV. I had none of them! I pushed for about 2 hours, then the pain started coming back again. I asked them to check to make sure there was enough medicine in there.. and they kept saying there was. Finally it was getting to the point where it hurt SO SO bad, so i asked them to call the anestesiologist (spelled wrong im sure!) in the room. I told him i was beginning to feel everything again. He had me sit up and somehow, the tube had come apart from the needle thing in my back. Uhhh.. great! So for about another hour, i was feeling alllllllll the pain. Dialated to a 10, had petocin to speed up my contractions, and NO epidural. Oh it was HELL to say the least. I was throwing up, crying, and poor saia was just standing there looking like a deer in the headlights! He of course didn't know what to do or say.. so it's probably good that he just stayed quiet :) Eventually we were back to pushing. I was just so exhausted.. mainly from being awake for almost 24 hours at this point. I was doing good through the pushing part, but for the 2 minutes between contractions i kept falling asleep. Baby's head wasn't fitting through my 'birth canal' if thats what it's called.. so they decided that i'd need a C Section. I didn't like the sound of that & saia didn't want me to have it done.. but of course if it was best for baby, then it's what we'd do. I got some stronger meds, then kissed saia & they wheeled me off into the OR to prep me before he was able to come in. The meds they gave me through that epidural numbed me from about my rib cage down to my toes. I kept falling asleep off and on which i think had alot to do with the pain medicine they had given me. I couldn't stay awake for anything. I heard Saia's voice so i opened my eyes & there he was. The blue sheet was pulled up so i couldn't see what was going on. Saia stood there & watched the whole thing. The only thing i remember from the whole procedure was someone pushing on my chest, realizing it wasn't my rib area, shaking uncontrolably, asking if i felt cold and then baby's first few cries. Saia let me know what went on though. He said once he got in there, i was already cut open.. the woman pushing down on my chest (meaning to push on the rib area & lower) was pushing to get the baby out. Someone went in from.. down there.. (sorry if too much info!) to push her head back in me, and with a few pushes on my stomach, out she came. He said it was about a 15-20 minute thing. I wish sooo badly we would have remembered to have him film it. I would have LOVED to watch it. Anyway - i heard three loud cries and Saia said "she's beautiful"... oh boy did i start crying! I couldn't stop. I asked if she was still a girl, if she had hair, and if she was okay. He assured me that she was still a girl, had lots of hair and was just fine. After they cleaned her a bit, they brought her over to me so i could see and kiss her. I told the nurse to give her to Saia.. i knew if i couldn't hold her right away, i wanted him to. He just kept staring at her and we had someone take the first picture of them. At that point it was time for them to stitch (slash STAPLE) me up, and for her to be taken to the nursery. Saia placed her in her little plastic crib thing and wheeled her off with the nurse. I fell asleep again but remember them taking that blue sheet down and seeing a guy and girl with blood alllllllllllll over their arms (gloves of course). Everyone kept saying 'congrats'... and off to sleep i went again. Soon after, i was back in my room that i was supposed to deliver in and asked for them to bring her in to me so i could feed her. She came in and her, Saia and I spent some time together, then they moved us to the recovery room which is where we spent the next few days. Saia was so in love with her from the start and couldn't put her down. Our babygirl was finally here and so pretty :) She was 8lb 6oz, 20.7 inches long, full head of hair, and healthy. Everything we could have hoped for. I wasn't able to get out of bed for 8 hours until the numbing medicine went away, but at that 8th hour, i was so ready to get up and move around. Being bed ridden was NO fun. Walking just 10 feet to the bathroom was SO hard at first but after that first day it got better. I was determined to be mobile!

Anyway - we named her 2 days later. Lyric Salome Josalyn Kaheaofi Vainuku. Lyric for my love of music, salome after saia's mom, then Josalyn Kaheaofi is a combination of his six sisters names. It's long, but beautiful. I love it, and i love her. We mainly call her "little" though. Since I was pregnant and felt her little kicks, i've always called her my "little".. and it just kind of stuck.

Being a mommy is the most wonderful feeling. I absolutely LOVE waking up to her pretty face, love her little personality, those long eyelashes, and big pretty lips. She's truly perfect.. such a blessing. I truly thank the Lord each day for blessing me with her. I cant get over the fact that she's ours, forever.

Three Days

Three days left until my due date... yet it doesn't seem like there is an end! It's very peaceful looking/feeling and just so so cute. It's really getting so so soooooo big. Last time i measured myself around i was 46 inches. At my dr's appt last week i hadn't gained any more weight and i truly hope it stays that way!! Im sure i'll gain a few more pounds, considering they expect atleast a 1lb a week gain from this point till the end.. but i'd like to keep it to a minimal! I've gained about 19-20 lbs so far which seems pretty good to me. Im so grateful im not one of the girls who gains 40+ my first pregnancy! However, if i had a huge appetite like alot of my pregnant friends i know, i probably would have. Yikes! Thank you body (and baby!) for being good to me thus far :) Im still feeling pretty comfortable, though i do have my days of feeling soooo huge and wanting this growing process to stop and her to be out of me already! Only 39 days left my dear.. and that's if she stays until my due date. Im really thinking that she'll come a few days to a week early. Cant wait to meet her and kiss her chubby chubby face and big juicy lips. Love you, babygirl!!

Tank!

Ok, yes... i do feel like a "tank"... however the topic of "tank" is referring to my little (LARGE) one! I've been having contractions here and there lately, so was checked and everything is a-ok. Cervix is still closed and the baby is healthy! This morning, i had an ultrasound and left SUPER excited. Reason? 1. As you can tell from the pictures, she has her daddy's lips! They are just huge, so pouty, and cute! This first picture and the one of her profile is exactly what Saia looks like.. especially when he sleeps! They are going to be twins, i cant wait!! 2. the ultrasound tech confirmed (and showed me) that she will infact be born with lots of hair. She pointed to some white area's on the screen while doing my scan and said see that? Thats all her hair! :) 3. She is a TANK! As of today, i am exactly 33 weeks, however she is measuring 36 weeks and 3 days. She's already over 5 lbs and expected to gain more weight of course in the next month and a half. I am SO excited to have a little chunk! I'll definatly be returning most of her "newborn" sized outfits this weekend and exchanging them for 3 months. The ultrasound tech said she'll probably be born close to 9 lbs. NINE! I did ask her to check for her "girl parts" to assure me that she's still a girl, no confusion. Well............... apparently because she's so squished inside of me, we were unable to see her girl parts. Sad day.. but i'll just keep thinking that first ultrasound was 100% accurate and she'll come out a girl. Saia still thinks for some reason that the baby will be a boy.. well, he wishes ;) I am so happy and excited to meet this little angel of ours! We have just about everything ready for her. Next post, i'll be sure to put up pictures of her little nursery thats coming along great. Thank you all for your love and support! We appreciate it!!

Pregnancy :)

Let me first just begin by saying that this blog will be about me and my family. As of now - that consists of this unborn baby & I. Where to start...
I am currently 29 weeks pregnant expecting a pretty little girl! I cannot believe how fast time has flown. I believe it was March when i found out. I had two identical back to back dreams about taking a pregnancy test and the test being positive. I woke up right after that second dream needing to use the restroom so badly! I checked the time and it was around 4am. I ran to the restroon, took the teset and sat there as the lines began to show. First one, then the second slowly came up. I didn't know if i was really seeing two lines, or if i was half asleep with my mind playing tricks on me! Well, there were definatly two lines. Saia came over a few hours later before work, as usual, and i shared the news with him. A few weeks later i had my first doctors appointment and a few weeks after that we had the first ultrasound. The baby was the tiniest little jellybean i think i've ever seen! It was amazing to see it on the screen. My baby. Heart beating and all.

I do feel lucky to have felt great through pretty much my entire pregnancy. I did get morning sickness about a handful of times.. but quickly realized that i could prevent that by eating something right before bed the night before. The only other issue is HEARTBURN!! Boy oh boy do i get it bad! Pepcid Complete tablets have without a doubt become my best friend :)

20 weeks pregnant

24 weeks pregnant

28 weeks pregnant

29 weeks pregnant

The moment of truth.. boy or girl??

GIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLL :)

I wanted a little girl from the start, but because of saia's desire for this baby to be a boy, i became 'ok' with the thought of having a little boy, and eventually i just felt like the baby WAS a boy. Saia would rub my stomach and call the baby 'Junior' allllllll the time. So when the ultrasound technician asked if i wanted to know the sex of the baby, i of course said yes! She said "she's a girl! no doubt about it.." and i cried one little tear. I was just so happy to have a pretty princess.

I've been able to feel her move since i was about 16 weeks along - and boy is she FIESTY! I would push on my stomach and she would be so quick to push right back! She's a wiggle worm, too. When i had my ultrasound done at 16 weeks to determine the sex of the baby, she kept kicking the scanner thing that the ultrasound tech uses to see the baby. These days she truly feels like a powerful octopus. She is wiggling, turning, kicking and punching ALL over the place. Some days she sits super high up in my belly and others she's alot lower. I love waking up to her kicks and feeling them throughout the whole day :) My next doctors appointment will be on September 7th and i cannot wait to hear that heartbeat again. Her due date, by the way, is November 8th and im hoping she holds out until then! I feel so blessed to be healthy and able to work to prepare for her. I am SO excited for november to come and be able to hold and kiss her pretty face. Saia has been very good about supporting me when it comes to this little girl. Each time he comes and goes, he's sure to kiss my belly and tell her he loves her. *tear*.. it's so cute. haha :) We just recently put up her crib (well, he did & i watched) and today im going to *TRY* and tackle the job of putting together the changing table. The more things we have gotten for her, the more excited we are and the more REAL this is all seeming! I'll try my best to update as time goes on - especially with the next few doctors appointments and of course once she makes her grand arrival.

Until next time...
